Critique of PSL Draft Selection Process: [Ahmad Shehzad]
The 32-year-old, who has been playing well on the home circuit lately, questioned the selection process. Saying that other players with worse statistics were chosen over him despite his good numbers. Shahzad further said that he was aware of the grounds for his exclusion. Which he promised to make public shortly, leaving cricket enthusiasts and the sport waiting in suspense.
A sincere farewell to the Pakistan Super League! I didn’t think I would be writing this note this year, but here I am. Another PSL draught passes, and the same old tale of not getting picked is told. Only God understands why! However, both they and Allah plan. Allah is, in fact, the greatest planner. I’ve been trying really hard the last few years, giving it my all on the domestic circuit. And I did pretty well in the National T20 Cup right before the PSL draft,” Shahzad wrote.
Even when franchises have chosen other artists with lower statistics than me, it appears like a conscious effort is being made to keep me out. It doesn’t really matter, though, when everything is prepared ahead of time.I’m not sure who is in charge of sending the best domestic players to the PSL at that point. However, I am fully aware of the national grounds for my exclusion from the PSL, and my supporters will soon be made aware of this, the player continued.
Shahzad stressed that his choice to leave the PSL is driven more by a love of the game and self-respect than by money. Ahmad asserted that in order to demonstrate his commitment to Pakistani cricket. He had declined offers to play in foreign leagues throughout the world and instead concentrated on the domestic circuit.
